circular thinking

180720113012And we’re off! The Stephen West Purl Ridge Scarf is now cast on, joined, and three rows in.  The start of the round is marked, as is the right side of the knit, and I’m checking everything twice.

I absolutely love the yarn. It is Artesano Aran – a 50/50 blend of superfine alpaca and Peruvian highland wool. Gorgeously soft and snuggly, and beautifully springy under my fingers. Colour is a teal/petrol blue which is not quite solid.

The pattern is very easy to follow. I’m not sure that I will get the full circumference of 56”, but then again it’s hard to tell from circular needles.

  1. I’m excited for you — lovely yarn/color and great-looking pattern. Looks like you’re doing great so far. I love circular knitting because it can become almost mindless which, frankly, we need every now and then! : )
